Who are the Indian agents arrested for involvement in killing of two citizens on Pakistani soil?
ISLAMABAD — Pakistani security agencies have apprehended individuals believed to be Indian agents responsible for the targeted killings of Pakistani citizens within the country. Speaking at a press briefing in the federal capital on Thursday, Foreign Secretary Syrus Sajjad Qazi disclosed that Shahid Latif, a Pakistani citizen, was fatally shot outside a mosque in Sialkot last year. Qazi asserted that Indian intelligence agents played a role in Latif’s killing, and an Indian operative has reportedly confessed to orchestrating the assassination by hiring local assailants.
Qazi further revealed that another Pakistani citizen, Muhammad Riaz, met a similar fate outside a mosque in Rawalakot last year. According to Qazi, an Indian agent was implicated in orchestrating Riaz’s killing through a locally recruited assassin. The foreign secretary emphasized that security forces successfully apprehended the hired assassin, who admitted to carrying out the act. Qazi underscored that Indian agents were also linked to terrorist attacks and other criminal activities occurring within Pakistan.
Calling for international accountability, Qazi stated that India should be held responsible for these actions at the global level. He conveyed that Pakistan’s Foreign Office possesses detailed information on Indian intelligence agents involved in the targeted killings of Pakistani citizens within the country. Qazi specifically disclosed details about two Indian agents, Ashok Kumar Anand and Yogeshkumar, asserting that they employed local assassins to carry out the killings. The foreign secretary mentioned that information about these Indian agents was obtained by Pakistani security agencies during the arrest of their local accomplices.
