The Supreme Court instructs the Election Commission of Pakistan to address the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) concerns regarding a fair competition environment.

The ex-chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, has escalated his appeal to the Supreme Court after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) rejected his request to halt the Toshakhana trial case.

Initially, the PTI founder filed a petition seeking the suspension of the Toshakhana-related decision to enable his participation in forthcoming elections.

It is noteworthy that the Islamabad High Court (IHC) dismissed the plea, prompting Imran Khan to take the matter to the highest court in the land.

Imran Khan’s lawyer, Intizar Panjotha, reported an unexpected incident where the clerk’s mobile phone and the appeal documents within the Supreme Court were allegedly taken away, raising concerns.

Given the significance of the case, involving a prominent political figure, Panjotha expressed ‘surprise’ at such an incident occurring within the precincts of the Supreme Court.

The decision to suspend the Toshakhana case has the potential to make the former prime minister eligible for participation in upcoming elections.
