The death toll in Gaza exceeds 20,000 as Israel continues its airstrikes on Palestinian territories.

On Sunday, Palestinian authorities reported that the death toll from Israeli attacks in Gaza has reached 20,000, with over 100 people killed in the last 24 hours alone.

Despite calls from the UN and other nations, Israeli forces have resisted pressure, and Gaza is experiencing a high number of casualties. Recently, Tel Aviv initiated a series of attacks in the Jabalia region in northern Gaza. International media sources indicate that Israel has gained nearly complete operational control over northern Gaza and is contemplating advancing its ground assault to other areas. The people in the enclave are facing a lack of facilities and enduring continuous attacks, compounded by freezing temperatures.

In addition to the 20,000 casualties, hundreds of thousands have suffered injuries, and bodies are believed to be trapped under the rubble of destroyed infrastructure. The number of deaths in Gaza accounts for nearly 1% of the total population, with no end to the attacks in sight.

The ongoing bombing campaign by Israel is considered one of the most devastating military campaigns in recent times, affecting half a million people in the occupied territory, creating a catastrophic situation.

The conflict began on October 7 when Hamas launched surprise attacks on Israel under Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, citing Israeli attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque and escalating violence as reasons. In response, Israel initiated bombing in Gaza, which has continued unabated for the past six weeks.
