Russian plane disappears over Afghanistan amid crash reports.

As per reports, six people were on board flight travelling from India to Moscow via Uzbekistan.

Russian aviation authorities have reported the disappearance of a plane with six passengers from radar screens over Afghanistan. Afghan police have received information indicating a crash in Badakhshan province.

As per Russian aviation authorities, the aircraft was a charter ambulance flight traveling from India to Moscow via Uzbekistan. It was a French-made Dassault Falcon 10 jet manufactured in 1978.

Contrary to initial reports, India’s civil aviation authority clarified that the plane involved in the crash, with four crew members and two passengers on board, was neither a scheduled commercial flight nor an Indian chartered aircraft. The Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation specified on X, formerly known as Twitter, that it was a Moroccan registered small aircraft.

The Afghan provincial police spokesperson stated in a release that the crash occurred overnight in a remote, mountainous region of Badakhshan in Afghanistan’s far north. Details on the type of plane, cause of the crash, and casualties remain unconfirmed.

Aircraft manufacturer Dassault has not responded immediately to a request for comment outside normal business hours.

The challenging terrain of Badakhshan province is impeding rescue and recovery efforts, with search teams striving to reach the crash site and assess the situation.

The international community is closely monitoring developments surrounding the plane crash, expressing concerns about safety and the circumstances leading up to the incident. Rescue teams are awaiting further information as they investigate this tragic event.
