President Asif Ali Zardari forgoes salary due to Pakistan’s economic challenges.

In response to Pakistan’s economic challenges, newly-elected President Asif Ali Zardari has made the commendable decision to decline his salary. This choice, outlined in a press release, aims to promote responsible financial management within the nation.

President Zardari deemed it crucial not to strain the national treasury and has opted to forgo his salary.

On March 10, Asif Ali Zardari, a seasoned Pakistani politician, was inaugurated as the 14th President of Pakistan for the second time.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa presided over the swearing-in ceremony of the newly-elected president. Zardari secured 411 electoral votes in parliament and from all four provincial assemblies with the backing of allied parties.

In the National Assembly, Zardari received 225 votes, while Achakzai obtained 119 votes. In Sindh, he garnered 53 votes compared to his opponent’s three. Additionally, he received 43 votes in the Punjab Assembly, eight in the KP Assembly, and 47 in the Balochistan Assembly, while his rival secured 18, 41, and 0 votes, respectively.

Previously, Zardari served as the 11th president of Pakistan from 2008 to 2013 and has been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since August 2018.
