Numerous mobile shops engulfed in flames during a fire in Karachi’s Saddar.
KARACHI – A massive fire erupted in the Saddar area of Karachi on Tuesday morning, resulting in the destruction of numerous shops and valuables estimated to be worth tens of millions.
The fire ignited in the early hours and was eventually brought under control after hours of intense efforts by the fire brigade. The blaze rapidly spread to multiple shops, posing a formidable challenge for the authorities.
Emergency response teams, including fire tenders and water bowers, swiftly arrived at the scene to combat the inferno.
According to the traders association, approximately 100 shops in the market suffered damage, resulting in losses amounting to millions of rupees. Despite the presence of a fire safety system in the market, the fire quickly consumed the shops.
In an attempt to extinguish the fire, the fire brigade had to break into the shops.
