Manchester City’s historic treble

At the dawn of the last decade, Manchester City established itself as a formidable force, achieving unparalleled success on the domestic front over the past 13 years. However, the coveted European glory remained elusive.

Enter Pep Guardiola, who not only steered The Cityzens to their maiden UEFA Champions League (UCL) triumph by defeating Inter Milan in the final but also orchestrated a remarkable journey. In the UCL, Manchester City’s significant hurdle was Real Madrid in the semi-final, a challenge they overcame with a resounding 4-0 victory in the second leg at home, securing their passage to the final. The team displayed extraordinary resilience in the Premier League, overturning Arsenal’s 12-point lead to clinch the league title.

Simultaneously, in the FA Cup final, they effortlessly sailed past arch-rivals Manchester United with a 2-1 victory, with Ilkay Gundogan netting twice to secure the club’s seventh domestic title
