Five Adiala Jail officials suspended after rape, murder of AIDS-infected inmate.

In Rawalpindi, a case has been filed against four inmates of Adiala Jail who are accused of raping and killing a fellow inmate in a cell designated for individuals infected with AIDS. As a result of the initial investigation into the incident, authorities have taken action by suspending five officials from the jail administration, including officers who are allegedly involved in the incident.

The seriousness of the situation has led Punjab Prisons Inspector General Farooq Nazir to order a thorough investigation into the matter.

The accused individuals, which include the assistant superintendent, night officer, assistant, night patrol officer, and ward in-charge, now face severe consequences for their alleged participation in this abhorrent crime.

The victim was reportedly suffering from AIDS, and there were nine other AIDS-infected individuals present in the same prison. Authorities are awaiting the results of the postmortem report in order to take further action.
