Elections 2024: ECP releases data of total candidates for national, provincial assemblies.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has publicly released the roster of individuals who have submitted their nomination papers for the upcoming general elections in Islamabad.
According to available data, a total of 28,626 candidates have completed the nomination process for both national and provincial assemblies.
Among them, 471 women are vying for general seats in the Lower House, while 7,242 men have submitted their nomination papers for the National Assembly’s general seats. Additionally, 140 men and 10 women have entered the race for the 10 minority seats, and 459 women have filed nominations for the 60 designated seats for women in the National Assembly.
In terms of regional distribution, 5,278 candidates from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are contesting seats in the national and provincial assemblies. Furthermore, 208 candidates from Islamabad, including 26 women, are competing for three seats in the National Assembly.
