ISLAMABAD: Durrani wants probe into ‘US arms supply to terrorists’ in Pakistan: Muhammad Ali Durrani, a former federal minister and senior politician, has expressed serious concerns regarding the trafficking of advanced American weapons and emphasized the need to investigate their supply to terrorists, resulting in the loss of innocent lives in Pakistan.
In a statement released on Sunday, Durrani questioned the source of the latest American weapons being used by terrorists fighting against Pakistan. He emphasized the importance of conducting investigations to uproot terrorists and eliminate the scourge of terrorism. Durrani stated that the United States should assist Pakistan with cutting-edge technology, as it is in the interest of both the US and global security.
Durrani warned that if the supply of the latest weapons to terrorists is not curtailed, the possibility of another 9/11 cannot be ruled out. He alleged that a new war is being orchestrated against Pakistan through the use of advanced American arms. In such circumstances, Durrani urged the US to support Pakistan with the latest technology in the fight against terrorism, as it is in the interest of the US to contribute to peace in the region.
Durrani pointed out that American weapons and technology are being used against Palestinians by Israel and against Pakistan by terrorists. The presence of such weaponry and technology among terrorists raises significant questions that cannot be ignored, he added.
The former federal minister stated that the responsibility lies with the United Nations, particularly the United States, to prevent the supply of new technology and weapons to terrorists and terrorist organizations. Durrani emphasized that the goal of terrorists, whether state or non-state actors, is to sow chaos and pose a threat to global safety and security.
Durrani acknowledged the unparalleled bravery and sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces and the nation in defeating terrorism. He called for unity among all political parties, institutions, and the masses to move forward with a comprehensive and robust plan of action. Durrani expressed confidence that the Pakistani nation and armed forces would once again overcome terrorists who are utilizing American weapons and technology. He concluded by stating that a strong defense and robust democracy are the guarantees of Pakistan’s integrity and security.
