ISLAMABAD: CNICs of Murad Saeed, Hammad Azhar blocked: The government has blocked the CNICs of 18 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders, including former minister Hammad Azhar and Murad Saeed. Following the May 9 riots, several party leaders are currently facing charges in multiple cases. Among those listed are Ali Amin Gandapur, Muhammad Aslam Iqbal, Malik Karamat Khokhar, Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi, Jamshed Iqbal Cheema, Zubair Khan Niazi, Malik Nadeem Abbas, and Ghulam Mohiuddin Dewan. The authorities have blocked their Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) at the request of the police, and the blocks will remain in place until the investigation is concluded.

Furthermore, authorities have stated that if the party leaders fail to appear before the anti-terrorism court (ATC), they will be deprived of their legal rights.

On Sunday, the PTI organized its first-ever virtual public gathering through social media platforms. However, many have alleged that there was an “internet crackdown” targeting the power show. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan addressed an estimated one million concurrent users worldwide, spanning across Asia, Europe, and America. During the gathering, the PTI chief unveiled the party’s 150-page manifesto, which promises comprehensive reforms in the judiciary, executive, police, and policies for overseas Pakistanis.
