Caretaker Punjab CM Mohsin Naqvi made new PCB chairman.

In Islamabad, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has appointed Mohsin Naqvi, currently serving as the interim chief minister of Punjab, as the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee. Naqvi has also been nominated for the governing body of PCB, following the acceptance of the resignation of Zaka Ashraf from his role as a member of the government body and head of the management committee. A formal notification regarding these changes is yet to be issued.

According to reports, elections for the position of PCB chairman are scheduled to take place within the next two weeks. Mohsin Naqvi has confirmed this development in an interview with a media outlet, expressing his commitment to steering national cricket in the right direction.

Last week, Zaka Ashraf resigned from the chairmanship of the PCB Management Committee and as a member of the Board of Governors (BoG). His resignation was submitted to Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar. Ashraf had assumed the role on July 6, 2023, succeeding Najam Sethi as the head of the Management Committee.
