Benazir Bhutto’s 16th death anniversary observed in Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto

Larkana: On December 27, the 16th anniversary of the martyrdom of the late chairperson of the party and former Prime Minister, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, was commemorated in Larkana with profound reverence and enthusiasm. This solemn occasion served as a renewed commitment to fortify and sustain Pakistan in all dimensions.

Throughout the country, Quran recitations (Qura’an Khawani) and prayers (Fateha Khawani) were conducted to honor the departed soul of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. Messages from individuals across diverse backgrounds expressed heartfelt tributes to Shaheed Bhutto for her dedicated service to the cause of the underprivileged and her contributions to the progress of Pakistan.

The central commemoration took place at Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto, approximately 28 kilometers from Larkana. Quran recitations were also performed at the mausoleum of Shaheed Benazir in Garhi Khuda Bhutto, where free meals were distributed to the attendees.

Prominent figures such as Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, Syed Mehdi Shah, former Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Shazia Atta Marri, President PPP Punjab Qamar Zaman Kaira, Syed Naveed Qamar, Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, Syeda Nafisa Shah, Farhatullah Babar, President PPP Sindh Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Khan Durrani, Waqqar Mehdi, Sessui Pelejo, Jameel Ahmed Soomro, Senators, Provincial Ministers, and others paid visits to the graves of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, and others. They laid floral wreaths, offered prayers, and extended their respects.

Central leaders and workers of PPPP from across the country, including KPK, Balochistan, Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, Northern Areas, and AJK, also participated in the tribute, laying floral wreaths and offering prayers for the Shaheed leaders.

Additionally, Senators, MNAs, MPAs affiliated with the PPP, and members of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) and Federal Council (FC) of PPPP visited the mausoleums of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and Shaheed Z.A Bhutto. They paid respects, laid floral wreaths, and offered prayers. The graves of Begum Nusrat Bhutto, Mir Murtaza Bhutto, and Mir Shahnawaz Bhutto were also visited, with floral wreaths and prayers offered.

The anniversary program commenced with a Mushaira, featuring prominent poets from Sindh, Punjab, and other regions who paid poetic tribute to Shaheed Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto.

During a public meeting outside Benazir Bhutto’s mausoleum, Chairman of PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Former President Asif Ali Zardari, former Prime Minister Yousif Raza Gilani, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Syed Nayyer Hussain Bukhari, Syed Murad Ali Shah, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Rozi Khan, and other senior leaders addressed the gathering, expressing homage for her services and reiterating the commitment to continue her mission. Many political leaders patriciate in the program and from Nindo Town Sheeraz kumbhar Zubair Ahmed salman shah Ali ghulam mallah and Arsalan mallah participate in the program. 

Speakers highlighted that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto played a pivotal role in raising awareness among the masses about their rights, and the PPP leadership consistently strived to strengthen democracy in the country. They pledged to continue advocating for the welfare of the common man.

A two-minute silence was observed during the public meeting to pay homage to Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. Collective prayers were offered for her departed soul.

To provide medical assistance, Peoples Doctors Forum (PDF) Larkana district, District Health Department Larkana, PPHI, and CMC Hospital Larkana set up a free medical camp. Ambulances and fire tenders were deployed, and first aid camps were established.

Inspector General Police Sindh Rifat Mukhtar Raja established a base camp in Naudero to monitor security arrangements. Police pickets were set up along the roads leading to Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto, and approximately 7500 personnel of Sindh Police and 300 personnel of Rangers were deployed for security. Senior police officers supervised the security arrangements diligently, ensuring a heightened state of vigilance.
