Australia’s dominance in ICC tournaments.
Australia stands out as the most successful team in cricket history, a testament evident in their dominant performance across all ICC tournaments held this year.
Under the captaincy of Pat Cummins, the Baggy Greens secured a notable victory against India in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2021-23 final at The Oval, propelled by Travis Head’s impressive 163 against the formidable pace attack of Mohammed Shami, Mohammad Siraj, Umesh Yadav, and Shardul Thakur.
While the Australian team faced a temporary downturn in one-day cricket, experiencing a sequence of four consecutive losses that momentarily dimmed their prospects in discussions about the ICC World Cup 2023, they staged a remarkable comeback. Despite an initial setback in the mega event with consecutive defeats, Cummins led his team to an impressive string of nine consecutive victories. The comeback culminated in a one-sided victory against India in the final, where Travis Head once again showcased his brilliance with a score of 163 runs.
