Air travel at Lahore Airport has been thrown into disarray as flights are suspended due to the disruptive presence of fog.

Air travel in the most populous province of Pakistan has been severely disrupted due to dense fog, leading to cancellations and delays of flights departing from Lahore over the weekend. The persistent and intense fog in Lahore has caused significant disruptions for commuters, particularly those flying from the provincial capital, as low visibility conditions prevail.

Multiple domestic and international flights have been either delayed or canceled. For instance, Flight DV-850 to Kazakhstan was canceled, while PK 263 to Abu Dhabi experienced a delay. Moreover, flights to destinations such as Muscat, Najaf, Karachi, Abu Dhabi, Muscat, and Dubai faced prolonged delays, including Flight PK-291 to Muscat.

Passengers are encountering inconvenience, and airport authorities are working diligently to manage the situation and assist those affected by the unexpected weather conditions. The thick fog has impacted operations for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and other airlines, with the carriers extending their apologies for any inconvenience caused.

According to the Meteorological Office, dense fog is expected to persist until the following week in most parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Sindh provinces.
