Mir Punjabi Mela ends with dimension of literature & culture.

LAHORE – The two-day Mir Punjabi Mela 2022-23, dedicated to the esteemed Punjabi poet Professor Ali Arshad Mir and organized by the Punjab Institute of Language, Art & Culture (PILAC), concluded at Alhamra Cultural Complex on Sunday.

The inaugural day of the Mela drew a significant attendance of enthusiasts, knowledge seekers, literature lovers, and proponents of the Punjabi language. Various seminars on the historical significance of Punjabi language and literature, as well as its role in the current education system, were conducted during the first day of the event.

Prof Taimur Rehman, representing the Lal Band, delivered a performance during the festival. Tarinjan Theatre presented a play, and Nadeem Abbas captivated the audience with a Sufi dance performance. An evening was also dedicated to commemorating the renowned literary and political figure from Sahiwal, Qasur Mubarak Butt.

Guests and admirers from all corners of the Punjab province actively participated in the fair. The second and final day of the event featured additional seminars and a Punjabi mushaira.
