The Lahore-Islamabad Motorway (M2) and several other sections shut down as a result of thick fog.

ISLAMABAD – Intra-city commuters are encountering challenges as several segments of the motorway have been closed due to dense fog affecting parts of Pakistan.

As per the motorway spokesperson, Motorway M-2 from Lahore to Kot Momin, Motorway M-3 from Faizpur to Rajana, and Motorway M-4 from Sher Shah to Pindi Bhattian are currently inaccessible to all types of traffic.

These closures were implemented to ensure the safety of motorists, given the reduced visibility caused by fog in the plains of Punjab and KP. In a precautionary move, the entry of all kinds of traffic has been restricted.

The Meteorological Office has issued a dense fog advisory for the region, and the fog is anticipated to persist for the next few hours. Commuters are advised to exercise caution and refrain from unnecessary travel.
