Hyderabad: 95% students clear matric exams in Hyderabad: Girls clinch top positions, Vijay Kumar of Petaro College secures second position in Science group.

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Hyderabad has declared over 95% of students who appeared in the Secondary School Certificate Part II exams as pass.

The announced results on Tuesday revealed that out of the 65,997 students who appeared for the exam from nine districts of Hyderabad division, 62,913 successfully passed.

Among the passing students, 11,495 achieved an A-1 Grade, 27,259 received an A Grade, 17,995 were graded as B, 5,677 as C, and 477 settled for a D grade. The board reported 2,450 students as failed, while the results of 634 others were withheld.

The pass percentage for female students stood at 97.42%, while that of male students was 94.08%.

The first position was secured by Hira Abid, daughter of Abid Ali Sahito, a student of Country Cambridge High School in Civil Lines, Hyderabad. Hira scored 988 marks (89.82%). Vijay Kumar from Cadet College Petaro and Suha Zubair from Foundation Public School in Civil Lines, Hyderabad secured the second and third positions respectively, with scores of 986 and 985 marks. Interestingly, nine out of the top ten position holders are female students, and all except one belong to schools in Hyderabad district.

In the general group, 1,196 students took the exams, out of which 1,090 were declared as pass.

Three students achieved an A-1 grade, while 191 received a B grade. The top three positions were secured by Aijaz Ali from Government High School Jamshoro Colony, Abida Parveen from Government Higher Secondary School Mori Mangar Hyderabad, and Muhammad Abid from Government Allama Iqbal High School Latifabad Unit 6, Hyderabad.
